This week’s memory verses are so powerful.

"For I know their works and their thoughts. It shall be that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see My glory." -Isaiah 66:18

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." -Acts 1:8

What are your thoughts here?

For our weekly “Illumination Initiative” at church,

we are learning the following bible verses:

"The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds..." -2 Corinthians 10:4. A few other versions read: New International Version (©1984) The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. New Living Translation (©2007) We use God's mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995) The weapons we use in our fight are not made by humans. Rather, they are powerful weapons from God. With them we destroy people's defenses, that is, their argument. My understanding: We can only tear down strongholds with Gods power which is stronger than any worldly forces.

"... Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ". -2 Corinthians 10:5. A few other versions read: New International Version (©1984) We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ New Living Translation (©2007) We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995) and all their intellectual arrogance that oppose the knowledge of God. We take every thought captive so that it is obedient to Christ.

Such hard words to live up to.. A penny for your thoughts?? /pulling-down-strongholds.htm.

Ask yourself these questions, to help you direct your assault against the stronghold-

1. What is the stronghold in my life?

2. How is this stronghold supplied?

3. Do people in my life supply this stronghold?

4.What in my environment is feeding and supplying the stronghold?

5. Am I serious about pulling down the stronghold?

6. Am I willing to make myself accountable to Christian friends?
